Open the D: drive in My Computer or Windows Explorer. Click the View menu, and select "Details" to show you the file dates. Files with a recent date should be the stuff you backed up. You can click on the Date header to sort the files by Date and put the new ones at the top.

You'll still need to be careful - don't delete anything you don't recognize from your backup.

Most computers today are shipped with two parititons (or sections) on the hard drive. The second one is usually a small section that has an image that can be used to restore the computer.

The way Windows has always worked, any partitions on the main hard drive as lettered first, and then the others drives after that. So if you only have one parition, it is C and the CD drive is D. If you have multiple paritions, the CD drive will get pushed back. That is just the way it works.

If you go into My Computer, and pull down the drop down list at the top that shows what folder you are in, you will find a listing for the D drive in the drop down. Click on it and it will show you the content of the D drive.
