Penguins are flightless sea birds of the Southern Hemisphere. Penguins have a heavier skeleton than most birds, waterproof feathers, and specialized glands that extract and excrete excess salt. Penguins swim like other birds fly.

Check these sites and you will get lots more information. Best of luck with it.

Penguins live in Antarctica and the very southern tip of South America. They are the only permanent residents of Antarctica. There are only a few types of plants which grow there, also. Penguins cannot fly, and they are not very graceful on land, but they are expert swimmers, and seem to "fly" through the water. They do not have feathers as you would think of--they are very close to their skin, and act as insulation.

There are several different breeds of penguins. Most are black with white stomachs, though some can have different markings. For example, Emperor penguins have an orangish stripe along the sides of their faces. Emperor penguins are also the largest type.

Like other birds, penguins lay eggs, but not in standard nests. Some, like Emporer penguins, lay eggs in nests made of small stones, and they are hatched by the males while the females hunt. Other penguins lay their eggs in any patches not covered by snow or ice.

Penguins eat small fish, but they are also eaten in return by seals, walruses, and many other types of sea creatures.

They have a thick layer of fat (well the ones in the antarctic to anyway) to keep warm-good insulator, and to put eggs. They have small ears do minimise heat loss. They have webbed feet to help with swimming. and i don't know anything else sorry. actually i think they have fur on them for heat insulation. And they have beaks to catch fish in the sea. They have big feet for balance.
