Yeah..you're rite. I read a couple of them on this community. And they're just so genuinely falling for those straight guys. Like what you said, it can be a very very very profound emotion. I think i used to experience it once with a straight guy too. He's hot and actually looked and looks like a celebrity. Seriously he's like a celebrity. And he's very kind and understanding as well. I talked to him a couple of times, but then i realised that he's got a ring on his finger! Upon seeing that, i was totally thrown away. And then, i asked him if he's married. he said yes and he's got 3 kids! Geee....It's really like a slap in a face to have seen that ring on it and to have heard right from his mouth that he's got 3 kids! I was so jealous of his wife. I really loved him so much. I still do love him right now. But, that's it. It's the end of the story. I was forced to end it.
So..yeah. You're exactly right! I will call it a true lover though i can't be with him. =(

I think it depends on how truthful the gay guy's love is. I've fall in love with (dare I say it) several "straight" guys, some of them I admit it was more like an obsession because they were good looking for example, but a very few others, I definitely think it was "it". At the present moment, I'm so in love with this straight guy, I told him a couple times that I like him, in both occasions, he didn’t say he feels the same way, but he doesn't reject me either (for me that's a big plus) he just changes topic, but he still invites me out to eat, shopping and he keeps being around me, which lead me to believe that he may be interested but he's not even sure of his own sexuality.
I firmly believe that there are some guys that admit at an early age that we like guys (boys at that age) and we learn to deal with it, but there a guys that don't know what to do and their easiest escape it's to act normal, do the "straight" thing to try to forget about it and blend it, be accepted, they’ll get married and have kids but deep down they know the truth. I am not "recruiting" guys; I am just trying to show the person that I am in love with that it's not so bad to accept yourself as a gay man if he actually likes guys.
I always find people telling me that I should forget about him, that he will never return the feeling, that I am just wasting my time, well, that's ok with me if being around him makes me happy, makes me feel good and lately make me feel that I stand a chance.
So yes, I believe that it is deepest and most meaningful love that a straight guy will ever experience, when it's real!

Unrequited love is a thing of beauty, but in a mostly tragic sense.
I'm not sure that I hold that it is the deepest and most meaningful love a straight guy will experience because I have seen some very, very deep loving relationships between men and women, and between same sex couples.
But as always, interesting question.

Most of the time you are right, however; many of us that has a crush on straight guys doesn't take the advantage of having our crush as a friend.
What I did with my straight crush, I befriended him. For two years I become his best friend and I finally told him that I was gay and I hope that it doesn't effect our friendship. Which to my surprise, the told me that he waited so long for me to come out to him.
Apparently he knew about it, and now, I not only have a best friend that accepts me, I also have my straight crush that let me touch him, kiss him and hug him. Sometimes we even joke about me being gay, but at least I don't have to lose him.
So, I suggest for every one who has a crush on a straight guy to do this. It will be beneficial to you to have him as a friend.

I wouldn't call it the greatest love that they will ever experience. Because it is possible that they will fall in love with a girl who loves them just as much or even more so, and they love them back.

I like to think so anyway. I also like to think there's a place in Heaven reserved for straight guys who acknowledge a gay guy's affection even if they can't return it.

It can not be the best and deepest love, if it is not coming to them in return. That is simply one sided. I'm sure that what they feel is strong and powerful, but to call it the best they will ever experience...it's a bit premature and limits their possibilities for love in the future.
EDIT:
It may be love, but it isn't returned.....that's not TRUE love...that's infatuation. Not to mention a complete waste of time and energy.
I still stand that it can not be called the deepest love, as a love that is returned is deeper than any valley, longer than any mile, higher than any mountain, and brighter than any star. A love that isn't returned is heartbreak.

Absolutely not.
It is easy to love a figment of your imagination. It is easy to love from afar.
Meaningful love comes from having an ACTUAL relationship with someone, seeing their bad sides, etc.

Perhaps...because it's unconditional. Women who love men eventually start nagging for something more to "keep the love real". It's disturbing at best.
