I mean. Lets get real. Sex in the Oval Office (deny it all you want, we all know it happened) Nothing to stop Terrorism. had Osama in his hands and just did nothing. PLEASE. I am not saying the Republicans are any better, but, they pale in comparison to this "in your face" distain of the American People and of the highest office in the land. the only thing he could do well is shovel the bull and the blind people believed. Between Him and Jimmy "Peanut Brain" Carter, you might have enough intelligence to fill a thimble. I will say this, we went from one extreme to the other. From a "do nothing" president to a "do something" President.

Ok Don. Let's look at the things You DIDN'T say. Like, Clinton saying, and I quote " I wish I'd have had a 9/11". OMG! Booming economy? I think not. Taxed the hell outta everyone. Never met a social program he didn't like. never gave the time of day to REAL ACTION, only token action.

Did somebody say Clinton left a downhill economy?
Holy Crap, do you not remember the dot com bubble bursting in 2000? That through the economy into an immediate recession. President Bush came into a two year recession. Why do you think he was so quick to cut taxes?
Lower tax rates have increased economic growth to such a degree that we have been breaking tax-revenue records.
Since the spring of 2003, the economy has had average growth of over 3%, 8.2 million jobs have been created, and the inflation rate has stayed low. The current unemployment rate, 4.6%, is a full percentage point below what it averaged during the 1990s, and there have been 47 consecutive months (almost four years) of job growth. In the last three years, workers’ salaries have risen by $1.2 trillion, or $8,000 per worker, and consumer confidence recently reached its highest level in almost six years
People were were trumpeting economic statistics during the Clinton administration that were not as good as those we have now. I wonder why?
AND, let's set something else straight. Billy DID NOT get us out of debt. He just managed to SPEND LESS than ur government took in in taxes. Which was because he and Gore instituted the HIGHEST TAX INCREASE IN HISTORY. So while he may have had a surpless of TAX revenue, he did not get us one inch out of debt, that money went straight into his MANY social programs

True, while Bill Clinton certainly liked all the perks of being president, he lacked any core beliefs or particular agenda of things he wanted to accomplish. He basically had a good time jet-setting around the world in Air Force One with a huge entourage and had a blast while delegating most tasks to others.
Janet Reno was a nightmare, as was Madelene Albright and don't even start about Sandy Burger or Joycelin Elders.
Bill was mostly guilty of neglect. To answer your question as asked, the best thing about the Clinton years was the Republican take over of Congress.

Clinton was the beneficiary of the technology boom of the 1990's. He got credit for the good economic times. He had Al Gore vote in the Senate to pass the largest tax increase in US history in 1994. The Monica Lewinsky affair caused his downfall, not because he had sex with an intern but pointed his finger and lied to the American people and then lied to a grand jury. History books had to be rewritten as he joined Andrew Johnson as one of 2 presidents who were impeached, even though neither were removed from office. The Republican Congress kept his liberal politics in check from 1995-2001 so he was able to do little after the tax increase of 1994. Many of his successes can be attributed to the Republican Congress. People forget all too quickly.

Clinton is a Rhodes scholar, sir and Carter is not a mental slouch himself. One thing you cannot accuse them of is stupidity. As to Clinton having sex in the Oval Office, I find that that pales in comparison with our current President's subterfuge and half truths that got us embroiled in the Middle East where thousands of innocent lives have been lost. When Clinton left office, the budget was balanced and we had a budget surplus. We now have the biggest deficit in history. For me there is no comparison.

Clinton got us into a lot of stuff, sadly with this the next guy has to clean up the mess before him. So a lot of this was pushed onto Bush. Impeachment that was the best thing A clinton has ever done in office. Thank god we didn't have Al Gore, jesus. First he says he invented the internet now he has the truths to global warming! And yes I am a loyal Bush supporter.

LOL, I cant believe you can't get over that blow J, thats really important to you huh? Just curious are you monica's BF?
Thats right we went from one extreme to another, one (clinton) who believes in fiscal resposibility overturned country debts into billions dollars in savings, low-unemployment records in history, and the dollar value is high.
Then we went to Bush - outsourcing, 2 trillions debt, unemployment is high, and dollar value is dropping by the day.
Its funny that Republicans tout themselves as good at handling terrorism.
1) During clinton's era The Republican block every efforts from the Clinton's administration to tackle terrorism and al-qaeda.
" In Congress, Clinton was thwarted by the reactionary conservative majority in virtually every attempt he made to pass legislation that would attack al Qaeda and terrorism. His 1996 omnibus terror bill, which included many of the anti-terror measures we now take for granted after September 11, was withered almost to the point of uselessness by attacks from the right; Jesse Helms and Trent Lott were openly dismissive of the threats Clinton spoke of.
Clinton wanted to attack the financial underpinnings of the al-Qaeda network by banning American companies and individuals from dealing with foreign banks and financial institutions that al Qaeda was using for its money-laundering operations. Texas Senator Phil Gramm, chairman of the Banking Committee, killed Clinton’s bill on this matter and called it “totalitarian.” In fact, he was compelled to kill the bill because his most devoted patrons, the Enron Corporation and its criminal executives in Houston, were using those same terrorist financial networks to launder their own dirty money and rip off the Enron stockholders.
Just before departing office, Clinton managed to make a deal with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development to have some twenty nations close tax havens used by al Qaeda. His term ended before the deal was sealed, and the incoming Bush administration acted immediately to destroy the agreement. According to Time magazine, in an article entitled “Banking on Secrecy” published in October of 2001, Bush economic advisors Larry Lindsey and R. Glenn Hubbard were urged by think tanks like the Center for Freedom and Prosperity to opt out of the coalition Clinton had formed. The conservative Heritage Foundation lobbied Bush’s Treasury Secretary, Paul O’Neill, to do the same. In the end, the lobbyists got what they wanted, and the Bush administration pulled America out of the plan. The Time article stated, “Without the world’s financial superpower, the biggest effort in years to rid the world’s financial system of dirty money was short-circuited.”
"
2) 9/11 is an example of how the Republicans take terrorism issue seriously.

Exactly. Now Billary is going to be given another shot at everything. Great, another round of socialized/government ran health care. And she has promised to repeal the tax cuts, so hello recession. Socialized anything is not for me, and all she wants is more government. Great. That is what we need, just like you said, do nothing to a do something. I am scared.

I agree with your assessment. At least Bush is willing to confront problems. Clintoon seemed to run away form them. Terrorism being the shining example. They were able to train and plot their attacks on US soil all during the 90's. I think even libs have to admit that. We were certainly very weak in regard to policing and intelligence gathering...
Unemploment is at near record lows now along with an average gross pay at an alltime high for American workers....
