It was Neil Armstrong (and Buzz Aldrin) that first stepped on the moon in 1969.

The sun isn't solid, but is a ball of burning gas (mostly hydrogen, but helium and other elements are present as well). Not only isn't it possible to land anything on the sun, but it's so damn hot that almost any material would burn up before it could reach the surface.

If a man were to surf across the surface of the sun, and ride a solar flare back out into space, I'm sure it would incite cheers and probably a new Mountain Dew commercial.

Louis Armstrong under no circumstances landed on the moon, Satchmo landed in Vietnam. And the sunlight is a ball of super-warm plasma, with none sturdy floor to land on. or maybe sending a unmanned probe into that is outermost layers is at the instant technically impossible. No human will ever land there.

Louis Armstrong was a singer trumpet player. Lance Armstrong won the Tour de France and Neil Armstrong landed on the moon. You cannot land on the sun nor would you want to try. However you can slingshot around it using it's gravitational pull with a starship to propell yourself backwards in time to pick up whales and bring them forward in time to stop the destruction of Earth by alien beings who couldn't find any of their ancestors when they came for a visit.

So Louis Armstrong went to the moon. Fantastic! We should change its name to Satchmo. That would ruin a lot of poetry and song lyrics, but progress is progress.

The sun is way too hot to land on. Of course, we could go at night when it's cooler.

You have some really good and accurate answers here, but I thought I'd have some fun.

Loui Armstrong is a singer.. He never stepped on the moon.
I think you are talking about Neil Armstrong.

If you consider the plasma remains of some unfortunate astronaut going to the sun.. well maybe then man can land on the sun.

If Louis Armstrong has landed on the moon, then perhaps we should send Eminem or another group that thinks they are 'hot' to the sun!

Wow? The trumpet player Louis Armstrong as an astronaut too?

I though it was his non-related cousin Neil....and Buzz of course.

A man can't land on the Sun, its not solid for starters- its a ball of gas/plasma. And a being w/o massive protective gear wouldn't get close to the sun's corona anyhow. And I don't mean SPF 50 million suncreen.

The Polish space agency has announced that they will be sponsoring a manned mission to land on the sun. When asked how they plan to deal with the problem of the suns incredible heat, they said, "What, do you think we are stupid? We will land at night (while singing Hello Dolly).

Not with our present day technology, that's for sure- the Sun isn't even solid, it's just a ball of gas.
And it's HOT. As in, it will burn you up. I doubt man is going to be landing on the sun anytime soon.
