does any1 know the smallest laptops which are also cheap? im a student. i have a laptop now but it's 15.4" and really heavy. i just want one that is reliable yet small and handy so i can research in school. i want laptops, not palm-sized computers. also, preferably windows. thanks!

Watch your Sunday ads. In my area we have half-dozen computer stores which offer weekly sales - most especially around holidays. About two months ago I picked up a Toshiba laptop, 15.4" monitor, for $399 with a free printer. It only has 512mb RAM but that is sufficient for my needs.
As for Windows, this software is not free and does not come with a computer unless you purchase it and ask to have it preinstalled.

Anything smaller than 13 inches and the price jumps. Fujitsu makes an 11 incher at about double the price;

Get a Macbook. Windows is just trouble, but if you insist on using it, you can install it on the Macbook.
