Do only two things.
1. Ignore their stupidity completely
and assuming that the word of "marriage" has mentioned then:
2. Just tell them "the wedding plans are over and that there will be no wedding whatsoever".

It may be hard to ignore, but in doing so, you would be showing them that you really are the bigger person. Always remember that you can never be all things to every person out there, so love the groom and tolerate the family that came with him.

I got hurt and then mad and bitter. Then I got over it a few years later after taking it too much to heart to the point where I really did believe I am worthless and always will be. Now I pretty much know their standards are so weird, only complete idiots and posers have a chance, so I don't feel so bad....

I would ignore it. Be the bigger person. Treat them with respect and kindness. It would be a BAD start to a marriage to have a confrontation. Let them get to know you better. If that doesn't work, hunt them down and tar and feather them.

Confront them! It's you they're talking about. You have a right to ask why.
