I agree, everything defined the 80s. Music now (I notice your avatar name is a JT song) is just not good at all. You'll notice that top 40 radio stations "claim" to play "all the hits". I know in NY, Z100 says this yet plays like the same 8 songs over and over. I swear if I hear "Hey there Delilah" again i might have to go over to Delilah and punch her out!

Sorry, venting a little. I really agree with what a lot of people said already. I would love to be a teen in the 80s as I was born in 84. I am OBSESSED with this decade. Everything about it. The movies too.

properly, i'm an expert on the music of the 70's, yet I do have an opinion with reference to the eighty's. I did like the ability ballads, that got here out of that decade. additionally, there have been a pair of dudes, which could purely crucify the heavy metallic guitar. Peace, eighty's Babe!

Being able to move from one style to another without having been labeled. Pop, to Metal, to Rap, to Grunge! Music definitely, but probably too the movies that seemed to get the mood of the generation, or decade, just right. The movies made big impacts on our daily lives as far as how teenagers percieved themselves and others, including all the sterotypes.

If I had to pick one thing I would say the Hair Metal bands. So that kind of covers the 3 you mentioned.

the fact that its over. I mean you might like the nostalgia and music of the 1980s but woud you really want to live it again now? No modern convieniances, no yahoo answers for a start not to mention no mobile phones that are smaller than a breeze-block or cost less than a months salary. The modern age is much sweeter.
