What if life on Earth never originated? I believe in the theory of the evolution of molecules into cells which caused life to begin. What if this never happened? Would the Universe just be full of planets and stars and other matter, all of them moving around in the Universe without "aimlessly"?

What if the Big Bang never happened? What if there was no Universe? Would there just be a huge empty space of nothingness?

If none of these things ever happened than there’d be nothing to contemplate. Awareness of something is what gives it presence and since we know the universe exists only proves that we exist within it. We can contemplate the processes that have led to our present moment in time; we can hypothesize on what may occur in the future but without the presence of mind at some point during this chain of events these concepts would have no real value to us except perhaps as points of conjecture. (i.e. what if this or that happened?) Scientists working on string theory say the universe may have 11 dimensions but the only ones we’re aware of are the 4 we see every day. Scientists say there may be parallel universes to ours but what importance do they hold to us if we can’t prove their existence?

If life never evolved here it certainly would have occurred somewhere in the Universe, the Laws of Probability demand it.
If the BB never happened there would be no Universe so there would not be any "huge empty space" because space is one of the things, that came into being and are part and parcel of the Universe.

The earth would have stayed the way it was billions of years ago.
If the universe never happened there would be no empty space there would be just nothing.
If it could happen it would happen and as it appears it did happen.
If we have no relevance to something else it doesn't exist.

Are you being tricky? Is this one of those ..."If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" things?

The Universe goes on with or without us, unless God has something to say about it. And if you don't believe in God, then who gives a good rats butt about the Universe anyway? I can't even reach the Universe. Got a step ladder?

What if even time and space didn't exist. Why does there have to be something instead of not something? This is actually a very old philosophical question going back thousands of years which scares me every time I think seriously about it.

if there was absolutely no life, which there would have been at some point, you wouldn't be here now posting questions that easily answer themselves.

What you SHOULD be asking is...

...What if life evolved DIFFERENTLY on Earth.

We would simply never know, because we wouldn't exist. So what's the point in wondering?

If life wouldn't ever happened, who would have been around to care about?
