Cancer and Libra
It is no wonder you fell for a Libra. Libras are charming and completely irresistible. They are so refined, sophisticated (in a hip kind of way), schooled in social graces, educated, polished, and easy on the eyes. What's not to love? There isn't a rough edge on them.
The problem is that Libras interact with the world all the time. As a quiet Cancer you are private, reserved and family-oriented. When your Libra suggests you attend a mid-week cocktail party, you may be haunted by thoughts of the unpaid bills on your desk, the dust balls under the bed, or the report you have due on Monday. If you have children, you won't want to leave them either. (Cancers never like leaving their kids with baby-sitters.) Libras need to play and network, though. Ordering in or eating out nearly every night is Libra's other favorite thing to do, but you think take-out is expensive and not as good as what you can make. Most importantly, you have an image of what home and regular family life should be, and your vision isn't complete without aromas drifting out from the kitchen. "Ugh!" they say, "who wants to cook?" Your Libra may protest that if you spent less time in the kitchen you'd have time to do more things with him or her. And so it goes. Libras aren't good planners for the future, and with their Sun at cross-angles to yours, you are liable to disagree with their preparations anyway. Just try to be tolerant when you watch your Libra pack for vacation!
Not an easy mix, but any match can work if you want it to badly enough. If you love a Libra, give this relationship all you've got, and try to deal as best you can with the down sides.

what hold you fast is the understanding which comprises all and all at human behavior- especially the negatives and positives .Send all the after effects of the "fireworks" ( if negative) to the recycle bin and keep mind at peace to look forward.(advice form experience at journal keping)Continue like this there will never be a major problem to divide you two.make it a habit to discuss but not fight ( wounds and blows!)I know a couple who have been fighting and talking of divorce sine 50 years yet they are so tied together that even experts fail on them! never married but at exterior life ( society) they are a wonderful couple to make many jealous! So we think life has to be lived when two unknowns meet with a design called "love"-a too abstract word only to be lived and experienced as our above couple!
Further both were atheists but since two decades now they sense the presence of an Almighty- an extraordinary power from inside them-both ! Not a joke -very serious story endorsed by many thousands on personal journal keeping-the Q&A. !

Have you looked at the other planets? Like the Moon, Venus, and Mars? The Sun signs (based on the month you were born) only gives part of the story. These other planets will tell you a little more about your relationship. Actually, you may want to do a synastry and composite chart- these are charts that look at the relationship between the both of you. You can find them free or inexpensive on the web.

If you were to think of your Sun sign as your soul -- your inner personality and potential -- and your Moon sign as your heart -- your emotional core -- then you could say that your Rising sign is your physical self or the face you present to the world
Libra & Cancer:
Cancer will have to enlarge his/her knowledge base and conversational skills, as it takes intellectual stimulation to keep Libra from being bored and restless. If Cancer continues to play the role of the quiet sulking martyr then he/she will not last long in Libra's affections. If Cancer will relax and enjoy life more, Libra would learn to like the devotion Cancer showers on him/her. Cancers preference for the loving approach, filled with romance, is simply not stimulating to Libra; his/her stimulating thoughts of various physical desires makes Cancer feel revolted and slightly dirty. This is not a match made in Heaven.
Love & Blessings

i'm a librian with a cancer man. we have our moments but its about accepting each other. he sulks, it used to wind me up but now i accept him as he is as he does me. if you love someone their faults aren't as much of an issue as their strengths. i was married to an aquarian who is apparently a good match for libra. it lasted 3 years before a bitter divorce. its less about what your star sign is and more about whether the 2 of you get on. i was in a relationship (aries) which was very stormy for 8 years after my marriage ended and its so different to be with someone now who i can talk to and is supportive of me. if fireworks are going off you're probably not suited to each other and whether thats because of your star sign or you can't accept each other as you are it will get really tiring eventually. don't mistake arguing for passion and passion never lasts without love and acceptance.

your sun signs may not have much to do with that. yeah, the two form a square which intensifies things a bit.. but you probably have aspects with your moon, ascendant too (not to mention venus, jupiter, mars.....) which are much more noticible
