Jus push your RAM further more into your motherboard.
It might detect as 256 MB RAM again.

Its not related with formating or your Graphics card.

You have 256Mbytes total RAM, There is a setting in the system bios (accessed at power on usually with the F2 or DEL key) which allows you to allocate how much memory is used by the video chipset. You can reduce this settin from 128Mbytes to 64, 32, 16 or 8 (maybe other setting too depending upon the system) . If your normal use is "office / Web " then a setting of 32 Mbytes shpuld be just fine, giving additional memory to the CPU to run programs, speeding your system up. If you run a lot of games, upgrade your system memory.

this has to do with video and page space for VRram. you still have 256 but 1/2 of it is being used. UPGRADE!

switch off ur computer and pull the ram out of ur computer and reinsert it. it is located on the motherboard and like a set of ic's and old video games cassettes
