I agree 100%. I would much rather be alone. I enjoy my own company and I like who I am. I can live with myself quite easily...unless I have eaten cabbage rolls the night before.

It is not possible for anyone to be alone, we only feel alone. At the drop of a hat at any point, there are connections already in place we have forgotten about, as well as a wealth of new ones yet to be. We have best friends and amazing acquaintances yet to meet, and all we have to do is make sure we don't get in our own way hooking up with those who are not true friends, which would be virtually anyone who is co-dependent. We can be with our own selves and feel totally alone because we are codependent with ourselves, so the first thing to do is to make sure that is out of the way, so that that we can truly feel the joy of self-reliance (the opposite of selfishness). After we possess this gift, we have something to share. That makes us choose to 'be' the kind of person we want to attract, and, ta-dah-h, you find out you have magnetism, no matter how cosmetically pretty you are. We have been provided for, and tapping in to this reservoir of comforting company just waits for us to fulfill the simple requirements that cause it to emerge. *____ This will not stop us from going through adversity..we need that so that we can access the choice to choose gratitude for understanding and establish prevention. Cold and dark is temporary, all the while that exists, so does warmth and light. Simple choose that instead. Choose it during your pain and it will cause the pain to subside over time. There are those who attempt to be alone for selfish reasons and find it impossible to truly accomplish it. So it is easy to see that connections are there, and if you seek a true friend, reach out and be one, even in your pain. Not a single small outreach turns out to be small at all, and besides, you only have to do something that fits inside one moment, so small it will have to be..:). We only have this present moment to work with..the past and future are technically out of reach and both are designed by the 'now'. Some out there is lonely and waiting on you while yu wait for them. A hello, a kind act, an invitation, all these lead to warmth and togetherness. So what is to fear? Billions of people are like billions of ingredients in the cupboard when you go to assemble a masterpiece...

I think I'll probably end up being that way. My gf and I are not as close as we once were. I have 8 siblings (4 each) that have issues with me in one form or another, or issues of their own that they're working on, or can't work out. Most of them live within a half hour of me, but I rarely get visited. I used to visit them, and invited them to lunch, but rarely got a return offer.
My sisters always said "Mom and Dad always liked you boys better than us girls.". I never saw that. If that was true, I think maybe it was because Mom and Dad respected hard work done outside, but heck, we ALL pitched in outside, whether it was working with the farm animals, in the garden, etc.
Anyway, I'm rambling. Yes, I'll probably be alone.

I'm looking forward to it. My wife smokes like a train so it may be sooner than later. I want to be the crazy old man at the end of the road that shoots at kids for getting on my lawn.

No I have a multiple personality disorder. I am never alone. I hate the arguments they're always a little one sided.
