It's a fashion that started in prison, and now the saggy pants craze has come full circle — low-slung street strutting in some cities may soon mean run-ins with the law, including a stint in jail

Proposals to ban saggy pants are starting to ride up in several places. At the extreme end, wearing pants low enough to show boxers or bare buttocks in one small Louisiana town means six months in jail and a $500 fine. A crackdown also is being pushed in Atlanta. And in Trenton, getting caught with your pants down may soon result in not only a fine, but a city worker assessing where your life is headed.

I can understand why it is seen so much in the ATL. I'm form NYC and I went to GA (for vacation), and most people in the ATL sag way more than people in NYC; however, I disagree with the ban 100%. I rather see someones boxers than their a*s. What will they try to ban next?

I am not a huge fan of sagging pants BUT I seriously think this is going a little bit far. Aren't the jails already crowded enough? I hope they realize it will cost them more in the long run to jail these people, then it will to deal the sagging. I can understand a bare butt being indecent exposure, but with just boxers sticking out isn't going to harm anyone. Ironically the population that does this the most is black people. HHHMMMMM...sounds like another law designed to lock up the blacks....I smell PROPAGANDA. Like Aimjeezy said, what's next? And like you said, I see women's thongs sticking out which seems a little more extreme, are they going to give out fines and jail time for that?

Well....fashion changes with the times..but this is the first time I ever heard about a law over it!! There was time when the "legs of piano's" were covered to protect "decency".
And a woman's ankles were considered Taboo!

It isn't something I would wear (God forbid) . I think they look terrible. But I acknowledge the right of each individual to choose their own clothing for goodness sake.

How the guys can run in those trousers...is beyond me!

Well i don't like to see a man with his boxers showing. If you a "man" you a little to old to have your stuff that low. My husbands jeans are never to far low. he wears a belt and yes he does buy them so they fit baggy but the are not like Jim Jones where you can see all his azz. I think a man with some tight azz jeans is so not sexy. I am supposed to be in tight jeans not my dude.

But I am all about self expression so if that is the way you feel comfy and you clothes are clean then hey its on you. You are the one with your azz out not me. If I don't want to see it then i just won't look.

picture taken during WW II shows all around st Paul's burning and then the magnificent dome showing above the rubble. The British people worked hard to save ST Paul's and Prince Charles and Princess Diana got married there in 1981.

once again it show how bad the government has gotten when they are worried more about a persons clothes on his/her body. its the dumbest law to date and anyone charged with it shouldnt pay the fine i would fight it all the way to the supreme court. its like they are saying forget the robbers, rapist, and murderers we need to tackle the saggy pants epidemic before its get out of control. i wear my pants like that and will continue just to see if i can get fined i'm a rebel against dumb laws

i read about that atlanta one before and if you ask me that sounds like they trying to start a dictatorship... they start off subtle with something like saggin, then they move over to wearin tall tees or fitted hats or earrings, then the next thing you know they tryin to ban hip hop in their cities... honestly, where is the crime in sagging? has sagging ever resulted in someone being murdered? raped? robbed? anything? people pass the dumbest laws.

I don't want to see your under ware or your butt. If common freaking courtesy has to be regulated so be it. Those laws were passed by voters in those municipalities. It is the voters rights to set the standards of decency for their own communities.

I hate those stupid looking saggy, baggy things.I do not need to see another man's butt crack, butt or undies, in public or in private.
