Each season is 3 months long - there are 12 months in a year and 4 season...therefore 12/4=3 :P

Each season is approximately 91 days long. Autumn starts September 23, but not at sunrise. Seasons are based on the equinoxes and longest and shortest days of the year, so the shortest day is the beginning of winter, the first day of spring splits 12 hours of light with 12 hours of dark, and so on.
