Well it all depends on what you watch for. My take on both is that they have their strong points and week points.

Pro football has a playoff system that makes for an interesting post season. Generally the games are not one sided blow-outs like when LSU plays UL-Layafette(spell?). You get to see you favorite players for longer than 4 years on a team most of the time. The dynasty of a program tends not to last longer than 4 years unlike some college programs. However, pro does have its downside. Towards the end of the season, playoff bound teams tend to "lay up" the last few games to keep their players healthy for the playoffs. Your favorite player may be traded or a free agent for 9 different teams in the course of a career. The feverish excitement isn't as big in pro football. Their aren't any traditions in pro like there is in College or Rivalry games like the Red river shoot-out or the battle for the ax(Wisconsin and Minnesota, I think)

College is great because EVERY week counts. You lose one game and most of the time you are out of the title hunt. You have all the tradition and rivalries from many decades of games. If you are fan of a powerhouse, generally they are going to be good for a long time. Look at Florida, Michigan, Texas, USC, and others. They are always in the thick of it. More often you get MAJOR upsets in college than the NFL(see Michigan-App. State) which are always fun to watch unless your team is the one getting upset. College does, however, have a the problem of TV coverage. So many teams and not as many channels to watch your favorite teams play. Also, Players are only there for 3-4 years and they it starts all over, so really good players go from good teams to crappy teams in the NFL and are never to be heard from again(some exceptions apply, but look at Troy Smith)

All in all, both have positive and negatives, but I prefer College over pro. I have found that if you play Fantasy Football, you tend to get more into pro, but just don't overdo it and get all crazy like some people do.

I own a PS3, XBOX 360 and Nintendo Wii. If I had to, I would avoid buying a football game for the Wii. But if I did, Madden is about your only decent option. The Wii controls are fussy on the Wii, and the graphics look pretty bland next to the PS3 and XBOX 360 versions. But if you want to get your football fix, give Madden 09 a try. Madden 10 comes out in August, so you might want to wait for that one. NCAA Football 10 is coming out July 14th, so keep your eyes out for that. I usually check IGN's reviews to see if they are worth playing.

College has more pagentry and emotion involved. Pro has better athletes but the money has done a lot of negative things to it.

College Football by far. Just the emotions and fanbase make it unique.

College is definitely a more pure game where cheating is dealt with and the outcome is less determined.
