I find this media and PR involvement in the campaign unsettling. Where are they going with this thing? Why is it necessary to pursue so much publicity that centres around spin, PR, and celebrity names?
All of it is resulting on concentrating and these people and the McCanns themselves and losing site of the fact Maddy is missing, probably dead.

I agree with you, most of the hype surrounding this awful case has indeed lost site of missing Maddy.
I thing it is really worrying to think about this media trial and all the different rumours being circulated.
Lets just hope it is solved soon.

I'm fed up with the whole shooting match. This case fills the airwaves and papers day after day but despite this there is almost no reliable source of information. Not only that, but it seems to have brought the worst out in people. Those who are totally convinced of the innocence or guilt of the McCanns must have access to info that I have not.
Meanwhile the McCanns continue with their rather distasteful attempts at overkill, whether it's bringing the Government into this case, or
instigating yet another PR offensive. One can't help but think of smoke and mirrors.

I feel like I can sort of relate to your issue. I'm 100% lesbian and for a while I had a hard time being around bisexuals because I (ignorantly) felt that it wasn't right that bisexuals got to dip their feet in both worlds. Along with that feeling, I guess you could say I felt threatened by bisexuals and was afraid to be in a relationship with one because of the chance that they would leave me for someone of another gender, which meant that said person would have something I would never be able to offer. I think it's all about how things are perceived. You may feel uncomfortable around lesbians because you maybe get a bad vibe from them, at the same time, you could be feeling that way because you don't understand why a lesbian would be against being with a male. Anyway, these are just a few suggestions. I hope you find your answer soon. :-)

I agree with you. It seems more and more about protecting the McCanns from any hint of involvement or culpability than actually looking for Madeleine. From day one there has been this sustained damage limitation offensive by team McCann. They seem more concerned with protecting their image than anything else and the British media are helping them in this. Poor little Madeleine. She deserved better than this.

The media will carry on with this charade so long as the public buy the papers, listen to the news and show interest, as soon as that wains, so will the hype.
I am just saddened that everyone seems to have lost sight about the REAL issue - this poor poppet is somewhere (dead or alive) and she at least deserves justice :-(

her parents forgot about her a long time ago when they gained celebrity status, yet they urge us to 'look for madeleine'.....while they are having daily jogs, press conferences etc.....sad people.
the mccann's are diggin themselves into a deeper hole with all this pr damage control. people will always see them as neglectful, selfish and arrogant, no matter what the outcome.
madeleine is the only concern here and if her own parents forgot about her...who are 'we' not too. yet they continue to urge us to look for her.....are we suppose to stop every child with similar features to madeleine that we meet? while her parents continue to rake in the donations and live a laid back life.

The media is a machinery that often goes out of control.
And tho' i, like you, do find it unsettling too, i cannot agree that the McCanns have lost sight that their Madeleine is still missing & maybe lost forever.

They are riding the tiger. I bet they wish they could get off now and concentrate on finding Madeleine and having a family life again, but they know it will bite them in the a** if they try. They have to have PR to try and control the beast before it devours them whole.
