It is more about economics than anything else.
The Protestants had better jobs and other monetary advantages over the Catholics. The Catholics would have done the same thing to the Protestants if given a chance.
Instead of fighting over old jobs and a decaying society, they gain much more by working together towards a modern economy. A comparison with neighboring countries shows they have missed opportunities to garner new industry and new jobs to benefit the entire population.

England's entry into Afghanistan was calculated a wise move to allow England a free hand...perhaps this is the most serious consequence, as the repercussions are now and in the future, unknown, and possibly enormous. (global stability wise).

Over 3000 people dead and ingrained mistrust between Catholic and Protestant communities which will take years to disapate within the sectarian education system for children.
