Depends on the programming of the elevator computer. Some companies program elevators to count the number of people waiting and then send the elevator to the floor according to this information. In this case, pressing the button more than once might result in a higher priority, although there is likely to also be some programming to counteract people pressing the button repeatedly. (Time between presses measured?)

In my experience, pressing the button more than once doesn't work to make it arrive faster. Patience (and making sure that the light around the button doesn't go OUT) are better options.

It's easy to get frustrated by elevators. But I would rather wait than press a button endlessly: that only makes you even MORE short fused.

Likely no. Once the circuit logic is activated it does not need further activation. That said, if the button was not pushed enough to make contact, pushing a second time (by a more aggressive person?) never hurts.

Nope, only cutting the cable will do that!!!

And we have LIFTS in this Country, the Yaks have 'elevators'.

Pushing the button just makes you feel better, by making you believe that you are actually DOING something to get you where you want to go. In truth if you want to get proactive and actually DO something to get you to the floor where you need to be......use the stairs lardarse, save the environment and get fit at the same time!!!

nope the motor can only go so fast so no matter how many times u press it the elevator wont go faster although it might keep your mind off the time and make it seem faster

ummmm....NO. The elevator will still move the same speed no matter how many times you push the button.

No, but I always push the close door button if available.

no it actually slows the process down eg you press a button it registers on the circuits that it needs to go to that level then you press it agian it stops its first action to deal with a new request even for the same floor and goes to process that so the more you press the more time it takes to go through the process

no. i don't know about the elevators you use but is shouldn't have any effect. once you're in the elevator, don't bother with door close either

No but if someone comes up behind me and presses it again when they can clearly see it's been pressed they wish it comes faster as they are usually aware I want to murder them.
