I don't know about if its the best ever, but I'm currently obsessed with the instrumental music used in "Donnie Darko" called "The Artifact & The Living". It's such a beautiful piece.

I think all of the music from Final Fantasy VII is excellent. I like the "Resident Evil" (movie) main theme, too. I know most people are going to name very old music, but you said any genre.

that could be a music and does not belong in the classical classification. whether, as a private opinion, i think of it sounds very comparable to a horror action picture. This has no place in this classification. As for classical music, this sounds maximum like Mozart's Sonatas for my section, yet this piece actually does not sound very like classical music. As for the language, that still has no longer something to do with this classification. yet another occasion of why this "music" does not belong in this classification. suited regards.

"The Gravel Road" from The Village. The soundtrack is 10 x better than the movie. That song gives me goosebumps.
