i love resident evil but i can't afford a ps3 :(

I haven't purchased a PS3 yet, and I'll admit I'm annoyed but not surprised. This is why I both love and hate new console releases. I love it because the new games always look amazing, but I hate it because the consoles are always so expensive. Hopefully the price has went down dramatically for the PS3 by the time RE5 is released.

No. It'll still be a while before Resident Evil 5 comes out. The PS3 will have been out for quite a while by then. What makes you think Sony will put it on an old console? It's not gonna happen. The main reason being that the PS2 probably couldn't handle the graphics. Also, if they wanted to continue putting out games on PS2, why in the world did they make a PS3?
So no, I'm not annoyed that it's coming out on PS2.

If you've seen RE5, its obvious that PS2 doesn't have the muscle to run a game such as RE5. A PS2 port would be impossible and its doesn't make sense for a separate version to be developed just for the PS2 regardless of the installed user base. Don't be annoyed though, all franchises must move forward and be the best that they can be. Don't expect any significant releases for the PS2 from now on.
