It doesn't read any cd's , but in device manager it is enabled and it is marked with !- what should i do, can somebody help me please?

If your computer is under warranty just send it in for repair.

Is your CD/DVD drive getting Power, means is the tray comming out and going in!! if not then check your the ID cable. But if it is OK, then take out the ID cable and replug it.
If still not working then it must be Hardware problem of your drive.

it just might be that the lens of the cd-drive is dirty.

If it is a specific cd that is not reading then it might not be compatable.

Cd-drives/ writer have a a life cycle, usually 30,000 cd to read and 5,500 to write., in this case the lens dies and u have to purchase a new cd drive.

if this is not the case, maybe a virus

Reinstall the driver for your CD drive its !- implish that your driver is corrupted or affect by some other software .

you will get it from your motherboard driver CD or else downlaod your chipset driver for your mother board and install it

i think you should uninstall it first, then install it again..
i've had that problem once,
i kept on troubleshooting it but nothing worked..
so i uninstalled it then installed, restarted my computer and it worked..=]

try reinstalling the software, and check the cables are all in.
