PC World.
I was called "an idiot" because I wouldn't buy the rip off insurance on a digital camera. The manager didn't want to know. Customer services didn't want to know either by email or in writing.
Still, if they employ 18yr old numpties who think they are IT experts because they made their "CV" using M$ Word...

I work in this shop part-time, so I don't know if it counts, but I would never shop in The Range. It is a terrible place to shop, things never have prices on them or the barcodes don't scan, so when you try and take things to the tills, you end up waiting in line for ages. Things have been put on the wrong shelves, so you think something is one price, but then it turns out to be something different. Some of the staff are very unhelpful - you ask them a question and the either don't know the answer or they take ages finding out or sometimes some of them even say they are going to find out the answer and don't come back. There is never enough staff either, especially at weekends when the shop is busy and they need alot of staff!!
I am just saying from experience, as I work on customer services, these are the things that customers always complain about and I can't say I blame them.

The local Comet branch in Salisbury! After trying to buy a new laptop I had to go through 3 different sales assistants who had the combined age of 12 and the intelligence of a well flung hedgehog! And they still didn't have a clue what they were talking about accept they all believed that the most expensive in the shop was the only one I should have!

Not really a "shop". It was the local post office in the shithole town where I used to work in an electrical shop. If you ask me they should drop a bomb on that place because the people who lived there were the rudest I have ever met. They treated me and my colleagues like **** and the boss wouldn't do anything about abusive customers because "It's bad for business"!
Anyway, I had bought an item on eBay and wanted to get it delivered to work, coz there wouldn't be anyone at home to sign for it. However I knew our boss probably wouldn't approve, and it was a large parcel so would attract a lot of attention. I therefore decided to get it delivered to the post office. When I got word from the seller that the item had been delivered I went down to collect it, and the girl in the post office (which was really a sub-post office at the back of a shop) was really rude and abusive. She shouted at me in front of other customers for getting the item delivered to my local post office because she said that they are not supposed to accept items for customer collection. Really politely I apologised and said I hadn't realised, but the stupid ***** still continued to rant on and behave abusively. As I was leaving I apologised again, but she still wouldn't listen.
Never went back!

There is no shop I will not go into again now.
But many years ago, I bought something from a newsagent, and they never said please or thankyou, and it really affected me, I never went into that shop for 10 years, until I read an article about the man who was running it, and who took it over about 5 years earlier.
It had been under new ownership, since I had last attended, and I hadn't known.
Now if anything goes wrong within a shop, I talk to them about it.

I'll never shop again in Asda, I bought mince that was 3 weeks out of date, bought Jaffa Cakes that were a YEAR out of date and was abused by a member of staff for asking for their help she snapped "I'm busy go away"
Though the matter of out of date food worries me more,
I went to the customer service desk where to be honest they did not really want to know and were kinda embarrassed at the same time, tried to get rid of me by offering me a £5 VOUCHER!! when I had paid over £10 stocking up on my beef mince and biscuits.
I asked to speak with the manager who was very very arrogant and I basically told him that if he did not refund me in FULL for what I paid then I would take the matter further. I said that I had my receipt to prove that I bought the items there.
In the end he did refund me in full, and I guess you gotta stand your ground with some of these big companies who think they can get away with anything.
Thank you

My local Chinese takeaway! They used to have an old lady knitting in the corner. Week in week out she'd be there, knitting away. She honestly looked 108 years old, then one day she'd gone. It didn't occur to me till much later that I'd never ever seen a Chinese funeral! Also, my crispy Chilli Beef was extra thick! This leads me to believe that either Chinese women don't die or I'm not getting what I ordered!

Ann Summers. I was told that, as a man, I shouldn't go in alone to buy underwear for my finacee as other customers might get the wrong idea.
