I don't mind them if people use them properly.
Atm some lil jerks at lighting them for no reason outside which is freaking out my poor dog Xena.

Firewroks are fun and exciting when used properly and safely. As long as they're not used as a means of simply being annoying, disruptive or to cause destruction, they're perfectly fine. Of course they don't need to be used year round but, for special celebrations such as 4th of July, New Years, and Samhain they make wonderful additions to those celebrations. Especially the lovely aerial ones that we can get here in our area from North Dakota.

I used to love fireworks as a child. Now as an adult I wonder what made us glorify the essence of battle in the first place?

I love fireworks, I get a ton every 4th of July and New Year's Eve.

I think they are awesome, and with permits more types should be legalized. (In CT, only sparkler-types are permitted)Of course, it's possible to make homemade bottle rockets, cherry bombs and such . . .
It's always the drunken idiots and irresponsible people who ruin it for everyone.
