I am happy to say that I live entirely on cash and have done so at the beginning of my life The reason is that my mom and dad sat us children down and explained exactly how credit works and how much you actually pay for things at the end of the day it shocked us because you end up paying nearly double and some times more than that depending on who you have credit with in the beginning it was hard but my parents helped with the basics when my wife and I set up a home I think that children should be taught these things at school as a matter of urgency happily my children all three are living the same way because we explained it to them at an early age Thank you for a very good question

Well for me personally I live somewhat above my means, but that's because I am disabled and have been out of work over 5 years now...
I say I live above my means because, when I start to run out of my medicine, I can't wait till I can afford it...
I need it to be refilled now when I run out and I don't always have enough money to pay for it when I need it...
So I either borrow from my husband and then repay him in other ways like buying more groceries...
Or I take cash out of my savings account to pay for it...
I can't just do without or I would die...
I have diabetes also, so that is what presents the problem...
I need my medicine this week, and I don't get my social security till next week...

What I believe is that sometimes people cant help but get loans for various reasons.
however I did.
I owed about £15000 in debt 8years ago.
I payed it all off and believe me never ever again
It was work 24/7 to make installments
now that I'm clear of bebt the stress relief is uncanny.
so please never get a loan except a mortgage.
nor ever get credit cards that you cant afford to repay...
there is an old saying
A shilling of your own is better than 2 shillings of someone else's.

Im crap at saving. I usually put things I want on credit card then remortgage or get a loan on a good rate to pay it off. Im a believer in you could be dead tomorrow so if you want something have it. I dont tend to go to far over my means though.
