I wish I knew. Because I haven't always done that. I think some of us have the kind of personality where we do things for others and neglect ourselves.

Hi Moon,
A good question because I was going to say through being disciplined but then I realised I'm talking about the promises I make to other people and not myself. I started the year planning on having more me-time, more time to paint, do my cross-stitch, read and relax and I've not done any of these! Yes, I think it's harder to keep the promises we make to ourselves when we put the promises we make to others a priority. Crazy, isn't it?!

remember why you made the promise in the first place.
make a list of all the prop's this promise will give for you.
keep remembering all these reason's until the finish goal.
concider this ask are your self are you happy with out this change. are you fine with thing's now. no of coarse not or you wouldnt be concered to change that which you want to change.
think about how happy you will be or better off with attaining this change.
ask your self will i be happy with my self while i'm still at point A? wont i be a lot more happy knowing that i made this huge accomplishment when i get to point B?
remember if what it is you want requires you to get up and do it. then remember that theres nothing bitter then that feeling then i failed.
do you want to have those feelings of i'm a failure? or do you want those feelings of being a winner?
stick up for your self. be a good friend to your self. these thing's you will be if you do as that nike logo say's Just Do It.
good luck

The angels say: "Never borrow from tomorrow".
I don't usually make promises - to anyone, or even to myself because I'm never sure I can keep it. Each minute brings new things somehow altering the rest of the coming scenes,..so there's no guarantee that a thing will work out as promised.
What I can do is just hope that things go my way as I try to carry out the best I could.

I try to keep the promises that I make to myself as much as I can. BUT, BEING myself, I understand the extenuating circumstances in a lot more detail when I can't keep them. So, I am able to forgive myself a lot more readily. I am able to understand that a promise, made to myself, is ALWAYS contingent on circumstances being the same as when I made the promise. Therefore, as the circumstances change so as to make fulfillment of the promise unlikely, I am better able to understand WHY that promise is no longer valid.

I often don't. But making them gives me a better chance of deciding whether I want to, enough, or not. It's better than just spinning a coin, or spitting on a flat pebble and tossing it. I gave that up as a kid when I discovered the coin often came down the wrong way up. And I always keep promises I make to others. Which is why I am very selective about it.

I very, very, hardly make gives you because of the fact if I cause them to I easily tend to maintain them. whether it means laying off blood (mine or somebody else's). From antiquity there have been thoughts of gives you made that should in no way have been, and of those saved whilst they ought to have been broken. you are going to be able to as nicely discover an occasion or 2 interior the bible. It takes character to maintain a promise whilst it hurts. and much extra extra to renowned whilst to sacrifice honour and wreck a promise. human beings could make gives you rather intently. in the event that they actually advise promise.

I'm trying NOT to.
This way I'm trying not to be too hard on myself. I've been too hard on myself like...forever. It's been so exhausting and consuming. Everytime it comes back - the feeling that I must do this and that as I 'think' that I've made promises that I have to do this or that, I must stop to understand and to be aware of what's going on. I have to think clearly about letting go so I can go easier on me.
Take care Moon :)

Promises are a lot of little steps that a person takes in pursuit of fulfillment! To realize that I am succeeding towards reaching my promise to myself, keeps me taking those 'baby steps' even when they occasionally go backwards!***
