i have a psu with a 200w dc output.(okay thats bad but thats for my old comp)so guys im currently using a xfx geforce 6200 with 256mb ddr2 and i plan to upgrade to a x1650pro for less than 50 bucks ( a very good deal) but it consumes 8 watts more power. my current rig uses 207watts, a little over my psu's output but a x1650pro will use 215 watts altogether, which will push my psu even further by 8 watts so should i upgrade my graphics or change the psu

X1650 Pro draws about 45 watts BUT mainly on the +12V rail. Old and small power supplies tend to be weak on the +12V rail. It is highly doubtful that an X1650 Pro will run at all with your low rated power supply. The wattage of your power supply is also distributed to the +5V and +3.3V rails. So, you can not estimate remaining wattage to be all available on just 1 rail.

If you want that X1650 Pro to run stable, just upgrade to a higher rated power supply. One with 18 amps on the +12V rail should run cool and stable all day long.

Not only should you upgrade your psu, you aren't going to have any choice. Your 6200 only uses ~25 watts in 3d mode; that X1650 Pro uses about 65-70 watts, in 3d mode.

I'd upgrade the PSU. You can get a fairly cheap 400/500W PSU and it's worth the money - after all, if the PSU screws up, it can damage every part of your computer. It's not worth the risk in my opinion.

Change the PSU, and get something of quality before you burn the house down lol.
