I'll give you the listings, but in all honesty you don't sound ready for an agent. Yes JRP and Barbizon are all scams. They're not agents but they try to make themselves out to be all in one places (schools, agencies, managers, etc.) for lots and lots of money. Legit agents do not chanrge fees nor are they allowed to recommend any specific photographer or place to take classes.

Before you get an agent, you need training and a good resume of roles. If you haven't done this, do not contact any agents yet because you are not ready. Make sure you have already been in classes for some time and have a good sized resume of acting roles under your belt. These should include theatre as well as student and indie films (check out www.backstage.com and www.actorsaccess.com)

Once you have that, then send your headshot and resume wtha brief cover letter stating that you are seeking representation to:

A+ Actors of Texas

Pastorini Bosby Talent Ag
3013 FOUNTAIN VIEW DRIVE, SUITE 240, HOUSTON, TX 77057

Wait 6-8 weeks to see if you hear anything from them. If in your acting classes you meet other actors who are already represented by these agencies, please make mention of them as a reference in your cover letter.

If after 8 weeks you have not heard anything, add to your resume and update your photos and try again. Hopefully the next time you will be able to invite them to a performance as well.

good luck

Tips for First Models & Talent Agency ( Found this review for you ) Recommends Courtneys Mom Joined 3 years ago September 18, 2009 An Agency You Can Trust. Colette with First Models has been an answered prayer. When my 14 yr old daughter (at the time) now turning 16 wanted to start modeling it was very scary for my husband and me. The modeling industry can be very hard. We wanted our daughter to be able to live out her dream without compromising her virtues. Colette has done an amazing job of making sure her jobs are age appropriate. My daughter works an average of once a month and in the Houston Market that is great. If you are willing to listen to Colette’s advice and work hard ... she will put you to work. I know that Colette will treat my daughter the way she would want someone to treat hers. What more could you ask for!! If you are looking for someone to represent your child...Colette at First Models will do it with CLASS!!

Don't waste your time. Any agency operating in Houston is a scam. Make your own portfolio and hire an independent agent to represent you if you're serious about a modeling career.
