No idea. Well.... I get upset if she gets upset. I almost feel everything - empathy. It helps that I love her to bits. Which is not to say that we don't argue. We can have our moments of anger.
I remember once someone we know had a new girlfriend and he said "it's great we have so much fun and we never argue". We cynically gave it about a month. Sadly we were right. If you never argue, I think it shows a certain amount of discomfort on the part of one member of a relationship.
The thing about a rose garden is that they aren't always in flower and sometimes you prick your thumb on the thorns. But you love it and tend to it and the flowers come again and again.
edit. I sound cheesy.

talking keep your emotion on the one that you love the most . show the love daily, do cute and funny thing that keep the relationship fun and wild. and when they need time to them self let them be and be there when the get back. this is been my way of keeping a happy and fun relationship for the last 10 years.

..that we are soulmates, best friends, that he knows when I am upset and knows how to calm me down, the silly faces we pull at eachother, the single words that we can say to eachother and we crack up laughing coz we understand and no-one else does, loving waking up next to him even when he is snoring and being glad hs presence wasn't just a big brilliant dream, catching his eye in a crowd, the reassurance i get when his hand is in mine, ok, I'll stop now, I feel ashamed I'm so loved up!!!!!

We talk to each other, do things together, work together, and most of all laugh together. Me and my lovely husband have our own business, and work with each other on a day to day basis. The sectret is, we switch off from work when we get home, and get on with enjoying each others company. he's my soul mate, and I just love him to bits!!
