Dear Rajmond or whoever you are. The ''third world country'' you provocatively refering to is GREECE.A country with culture and ancient history of 6.000 years. Moreover, you are extremely rude and uneducated in order to continue talking to you.I don't waist my time easily.

Don't be surprised about the hate filled responses, some are not able to criticise their country or government and become irrate when others do.
America has acted like an imperialist in many foreign policy situations, they have let capitalism rule without enough concern for social justice.
I am very unhappy with my countries current government (its rating is at an all time low at the moment), I live in Australia. I do not think criticising my country is unpatriotic, in fact I think it is a sign of a functioning democracy that my protests are heard. We have a govt that believes that a free market solves everything, and our history of social justice is in trouble if we keep going down this path.
Too many US citizens do not own a passport and do not educate themselves on other countries, this leads them to believing their own governments propaganda about them having the best society. To others they see the OECD figures and see they rate poorly in education, health, social justice, quality of life and many other indices like child poverty. We see the faults and are dumbfounded by their ignorance of them.
It is the intelligent wonderful activist people in America that will change the govt and get them on a path towards a kinder society. The first step for the others is realising their problems, denial will make the problem worse. I hope that many will get tired of the propaganda and work as a more productive member of the world society, instead of isolating themselves with tyranical foreign policies that makes the rest of the world despise them, for the actions of a powerful few and ignorant masses.

The world loves to talk about how America harms the rest of the world, but they never want to talk about the good we do. Do you realize how much food we send to the starving African nations, while Europe sends it's fishing fleets into their waters to take what little food they have? (Greece included) When a disaster hits, who's the first country to send not just money, but food medicines, doctors, and the means to distribute everything sent? Of course, if your Osama, of some other reactionary America basher, you look upon our charity as an invasion, and proof of our imperialistic ways.
If Greece is ever invaded, who do you think will be the first country to come and defend you with troops, and not just words at a U.N. meeting?
Sure America looks out for itself as well. Name me a country who has power that doesn't. Most of western Europe has had their time as the Alpha dog, and look how they treated the world, just like us sans the charity. and if America falls and can no longer be in our position to be there for the rest of the world, how much help do you think China will give?
BTW, Your right that Communism never attacked Greece, but do you know why? Because you were on our side of the iron curtain. The mutually assured destruction of nuclear war kept both Americans and soviets on their side of the iron curtain.

Who's calling whom uneducated now? I notice you are not blaming the French for starting the mess in Vietnam.
And 'atomic' bombs were replaced with hydrogen bombs decades ago.
Clearly America (and Britain) were wasting their time saving Greece from communism in the late 1940s

A Greek criticizing the United States of America!?!? Now I've heard the lowest of the low speak ill of the highest of the high!
Your "culture and ancient history" lasted about 100 bloody years until you destroyed yourself in the foolish Peloponnesian War and never again entered the world stage, except when you supported the Hitlerian conquest murders of a paranoid psychopath that you call "The Great" to this day! "Alexander The Great"! A man who spread death and unspeakable atrocities across the known world from Macedon to Punjab! For what reason? None. None whatsoever, except personal glory and maniacal blood lust!
And you lecture us! Shame! Shame on you! Shame on Greece for its innumerable crimes against humanity! And still, after 2500 years, Greece has yet to offer an apology to Gaza or Persia or Massaga whose cities still lie in ruins mixed with the bones of its citizens, murdered and mutilated by Greeks!
And what of the one good man who tried to teach you truth and duty to mankind? What of Socrates? After a barbaric show trial, you executed him! For what crime? For questioning authority!
Shame! Shame on you! Shame on Greece, the worst of the worst! Shame!

The good americans have done is overshadowed by the bad.
People trot out the old line that you'd be speaking Russian or German without the US. That's true, but that's also in the past, distant past.
Current Americans are trading on the reputations and hard work of previous generations when they could still call themselves the good guys.

It's incredible, but Stan Lee said it well, "With great power comes great responsibility."
We have not been very responsible.
The bombing of Japan was a tragedy with results that I believe nobody foresaw.I hope. Other than the end of the war,
at least that was an objective.
Korea and Vietnam were wars or conflicts born out of fear of communism(foolish fears), and the desire to keep people "free."
The premise may have been well intentioned, but the actions were half hearted and ill conceived.
The same goes for Afghanistan and Iraq today.
If you choose war, define victory at least. Casualties will be less, and peace possibly attainable.

Living in a do-nothing, take no responsibility country doesn't give one the right to pass judgment upon those of us who live in a country that is proactive and looks to the world's needs.
So ironic that we are being accused of tyranny when we have just unseated Saddam.

Are your prepared to mind your own @#$% business? We don't bash whatever third rate country you reside in, so don't bash ours. You don't know what tyranny is. Wait until some tyrant wants to take over your country and you come with your tail between your collective legs asking for help.

Anna, try stomping your feet, squinting your eyes shut real tight, and screeching, "Stop it, just stop it!!" Then threaten to hold your breath until they do what you want. I think it would work. Really.
