When in fact they had lied to get a free flight across to the US from the UK - were they ever punished?

There were over 240 people that criminally reported people lost in the WTC that were brought to court on various charges. Some were men and women that reported themselves missing and disappeared, to be found later somewhere else. Some reported spouses missing, with their consent to form a conspiracy to get the insurance money. They were all brought to justice.

I did hear about that when it first happened but then it died down and no more was said.
