Unless you're gay or are knocked up and want an abortion, these and most of the other 'hot button' issues are just a smoke screen. The Republican and Democratic platforms are identical as to what they are trying to achieve and the only disagreement is on how to do it! Their policies lead to the same place: an International Socialist Welfare Police State. I voted FOR Ross Perot twice and have voted Reform Party or Libertarian ever since as a vote of 'NO CONFIDENCE' in the established order.

Well Democrats are against same sex marriage, so there ya go.
And before anyone says they aren't, did you listen to all the Dem candidates say they are against gay marriage at the gay forum debate ?
Have you noticed that the state legislatures in all 50 states, blue and red, have banned gay marriage?
Generally the difference between the Republicans and democrats , is a matter of degrees.
Thing's like, a new plan for cleaner air.
Spending 100 billion would clean the air 10%
Spending 300 billion would clean the air 12%
The republicans would say, it is only cost effective to spend the 100 bill and clean it 10%.
The Democrats would say, lets spend the 300 bill and clean it as much as we can.
Pretty much, on every issue you look at, it comes down to minor differences.
You always have to look past the political retoric.
You cannot even believe the media, just yesterday there was a report about iraq banning the security foirm blackwater.
The reporter said the security firms are under no regulation, and specificly said, they were not under the military UCMJ.
But the fact is, all contractors are under the UCMJ, and have been since Oct 2006.
The reporter, just didn't take the time to find out, before he wrote his article.
You find alot of mistakes like that in political reporting.

The real fundamental differences between Democrats and Republicans are very minor. They pretty much agree on most things. Republicans claim to be the party of small and limited government, and fiscal responsibility, but have shown that they can spend just as much and increase gov't power just as much as Dems. Democrats claim to be the party of the "little guy", the poor and downtrodden, but they are in the hip pocket of Big Business and moneyed interests just as much as the Repubs.
There's really no fundamental difference between the two other than when one is in power, the other one isn't....

In general it seems like Democrats care more about people and Republicans care more about money.

I'm in favor to same sex marriage because we're all Americans and we're all entitled to the pursuit of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
- whether the Bible approved of it or not. Not everybody worships the Bible.
