I'm an Iranian but I don't really care cause it's related to our politicians who I really hate...also can the name change the location of the golf?!?!?

The Persian Gulf, in the Southwest Asian region, is an extension of the Indian Ocean located between Iran and the Arabian Peninsula and now is renamed to " Arabian Gulf".

Are you wondering why it is named after a Culture instead of a Nationality (ex. Indian Ocean, Sea of Japan)? I don' t know the history of why that name was chosen but I personally have no problem with it. It seems accurate enough.

It's probably a bit better than calling it the "Gulf of Oklahoma."

it works for me. It was named after the region known as Persia in ancient times.
