I think your final destination is HOME. If you think about any 'trip' you go on, your final destination is always back where you started, otherwise you never really finish your trip, it becomes a move instead... So each day brings us one day closer to home. Alternatively, you could say that you final destination is your origin.

It is Odysseus' home land. Odysseus takes ten years to reach Ithaca, after the Trojan war. His journey begins at the end of the Iliad and is told in Odysseus, the 2 major poems of Homer.
