ask the sonographer at the time, but its probably better to wait until your second scan at around 20weeks...congrats on the baby, and a surprise is always great ;-)

those photos are no longer ultrasound scans. Scans are no longer that clean, and not all toddlers look precisely an identical. The clitoris can nevertheless be very great and swollen and look resembling a penis on a test at 13 weeks, so not often will they make a gamble that early. closer to fifteen-sixteen weeks it extremely is a sprint extra straightforward in case you have a good clean shot and a good sonographer who's acquainted with what they are observing. yet for many precise interpretation it extremely is pronounced to attend until approximately 18 weeks or previous.

I had a scan at 13 weeks and the consultant told me he could tell the sex with 90% accuracy at 13 weeks and 95% at 14 weeks. But that was a private scan and I know if you go on the NHS they won't tell you before 20 weeks, so it depends on who is doing it.

Measuring the penis when it isn't erect is pointless, since the length and bulk are affected by various temporary factors, such as the ambient temperature. Even the largest male organ can shrink to virtually nothing if the man goes for a swim in cold water. However, at normal temperatures a non-erect p enis usually measures between 8.5 cm and 10.5 cm (3-4 inches) from tip to base.

The average figure is about 9.5 cm (3.75 inches). Of course, it's true that some men have big penises and some have smaller ones, just as some men have small feet and some have big feet, but the measurement is not – repeat not – an index of virility.

it is still REALLY early and usually the genitals haven't developed all the way yet by then. BUT I found out I was having a boy when I was sixteen weeks.
You are more likely to see if it is a boy rather than a girl. It really just depends on how the baby is postioned.
But you do have a chance of finding out, just don't be disappointed if you don't some couples don't find out until BIRTH!

No not usually. It may be possible if the baby is in the perfect position but it would still be a guess. It is best to have that done around 18-22 weeks when the sex organs are fully developed.

They could if the baby has it's genitals pointing in the right direction! At this stage though, it's not set in stone. 20 weeks is more likely to be correct as the genitals will be bigger and better formed and therefore easier to see. But only if baby obliges!!

Yes, I knew my son's gender at 13 wks actually. it was very obvious, I blurted out "it's a boy!" before the sonogram lady got a chance to.

the sex organs are developed at 13 wks so yes it is possible to tell, but dont get your hopes to high because it may still be hard to tell...are you having another one done closer to 18-20wks?...so if they cant tell just in case you know you'll have another shot at it!
