I might miss it at first, but I've been on it only 14 months.
I would get caught up on all my "snail mail" and perhaps actually get our Alter Egoing (RPing via letters) going strong once more. Some of our stories have been on hold a long time because I'm a baaaaaaad penfriend!
I also would play my bowed psaltery, seeing how many songs I remember and how many more I can learn.
I'd put my room in order, and go through paperbacks, cassettes and CDs to see what I could sell or swap. I'd start trading and selling comics again.
Oh! I could start sketching again! That's something that I've been neglecting for a long time. Also, I should catch up on my reading; I haven't been doing enough of that.
I could watch television, especially lots of movies. I already do that now, but maybe I'd focus on them more if I wasn't splitting my attention at times.
Maybe I would work harder on the film book I'm writing. Could I use my old-timey word processor?
I would miss The Phantom's Opera. I've made a lot of friends there, and we're writing some intriguing stories.
So, I don't know if I would miss this that much. There might be a withdrawal period, but that probably wouldn't last long.

Believe it or not, you may be surprised how long you can survive without the internet. If you find something that you really like to do for example, working on a building project or even if you really like to play an instrument, decreasing your time spent on the internet will make more time for you to pursue that hobby or passion. After a while, you really won't miss the web.

I survived when I was younger, and I don't think it would be a problem. My connection is so slow, I survive without most of its features right now. The real problem would be other people who rely on the Internet-- people who expect you to contact them through email. Or for people who are still in school, a lot of professors put everything on-line, so they would probably fail their classes.
With the extra time, I would read more and write more.

NO WAY!! I check my e-mail tons of times a day. I talk to my mom in another state over the computer, I get daily updates from my bank and I play games. If I didn't have the Internet, I couldn't go Yahoo Answers and that would be sad. Guess I would have to read more if I didn't have Internet.

Unfortunately no in the sense that I really need it for school work, even for work etc as more ppl preferred to be contacted online vs. phone and in person. More assignments, scheduling, etc. are online as well.
Though if I was not in school and work only relied on ppl coming in as scheduled then yes a year will be doable. I would actually get more sleep after work, possible go out more to start exercise and train for a fun event etc.

I have before, so could do it again...not that I'd like to now though. Family and home keep me busy, but I'd have to take up another hobby again to keep my mind busy...maybe read some books again, or start painting again too. I can be creative thankfully ;)
I do like the question...I've had one post twice before too...and, then had some that didn't post at all. Go figure!!!

Yes, I have before and I could do it again. I spend way to much time on the internet and there are a whole lot of things I could doing besides going on myspace.
