Hi Jessica,

by "mathematical shapes" the question probably means shapes that have regular, measurable, mathematical characteristics.

Some obvious examples:
- the circle (wheels etc.)
- the sphere (earth, ball bearings, bubbles)
- the pyramids
- the path of a thrown object (parabola)
- wave motion (sinusoidal)
- etc.

You can probably use search.yahoo.com for some more ideas.

hth; good luck.

REgards,
Chas.

Pizza and it's slices represent 1/4th the volume of area of that pizza; actually, that representation is based on the number of slices making up the one pizza.

The 3 and 9 o'clock hours on a analog (or hands) clock are set a 90 degree angles. Use a protractor to get the other angles, making the 12 the right angle. This was fun to do when I had to do this years ago.
