The fresh plowed dirt that use to get in Ryan's curly hair after he was in the field, riding on the John Deere Tractor, with his day, enjoying life. When I would shampoo his hair the scent was an earthy mixture and I will never forget the smell. It circles and leads me back to a memory of long forgotten dreams. (Very good question, thanks!)

Hi,
Not the wind but a gentle breeze that carries the fresh crisp autumn smells, the smell of leaves burning and the spicy smell of the wood fires in the valley below. The earthy smells from the woods next to our home and the moist soil after the rain. The summer is ending, the nights are drawing in offering kitchen smells of jams and jellies and home baking. Those are the scents that carry my heart as it drifts within the circles of the seasons. The promise that although everything changes, the pattern will be repeated again and again.

By "heart as it drifts in cirlces" as a bad thing, as in the attraction tempts you into following it when it leads you nowhere, thus the downfall of your heart's passions? If that's the case the moments where I screw something up and end up hurting someone, no matter the intensity of pain. It drives me in circles as i think more and more about it
By "heart as it drfits in circles" as a good thing, as in the the attraction is so well developed that you can't help but follow it and that's how wonderfully enjoyable it is. If that's the case, my moments when a friend tells me a problem and i'm able to use my empathy. Not to say I like hearing about my friends' problems, or am conceited with my empathy...it's just feels like that scent of wind that carries my heart in circles.

The wind carries the scent of Magnolia's carrying my heart with beautiful thoughts while it's drifting in circles. When I feel lost and not at peace I always think of Magnolia's and the smell comes to me.

Our sense of smell is more powerful than most people realize...but it has the power to make us happy or sad. I breathe in the scent of freshly mown grass, and I recall childhood summers. I notice the distinct smell of corn pollen in the air, and suddenly I crave corn on the cob. The scent of carving pumpkins? Apples? Burning leaves?? Again; all these evoke memories of happy childhood times. Most recently, I opened my grandmother's recipe box, and as I pulled the file open, the scent of my grandmother's house overwhelmed me, made me smile, and gave me goosebumps all at the same time. She's been gone for almost 20 years. Memories from the heart...thanks to the sense of smell.

Lavender, I have some growing in my backyard. The scent helps a person relax and reduces tension. I keep a little cloth bag of it at the head of my bed to rub if I can't get relaxed to drift off to sleep easily. It works.

my heart stopped drifting in the wind long ago,it is now nestled safely amongst the scent of musky roses, safe from the wind that smells of fear and confusion.

Rose. I would love to fill an outdoor hot tub with rose petals instead of water, and spend the night looking up at infinity from this delightfully scented softness. Sweet.........
edit: Polly, that was beatiful! It felt like home! Nice............

in the summer season it is wild honeysuckle, jasmine and roses
in the winter it is the smell of the snow as it falls in cold wind
spring and fall just the scent of a cool clean breeze.
