Well, i think the alligator/crocodile. It may be a fearsome creature, but its foolproof evolution has ensured its survival through the millennia. It is one of the most hardy creatures in the world, to be able to evolve into its perfect form, even all those millions of years ago, to protect it and keep its race alive even now. I think that is just amazing, that it is still here despite the human idiots charging around killing everything.

Dholes, also called Asian wild dogs. Back about 50 years ago before major habitat destruction reduced their numbers and also the average individuals in a pack, they were so powerful, 20 of them in a pack, they had been seen killing tigers and bears. Pretty amazing. Now the average size of a pack is so small, 5 to 12, this is a thing of the past. There is only about 4,000 dholes left and they take livestock and are shot by farmers.

The platypus and the echidna. The only egg-laying mammals (monotremes) on the planet. Their skeletons resemble the skeletons of reptiles. If I had to choose between these two, I'd say the platypus is more amazing because it has a bill like a duck, a venomous spur on it's hind leg and finds grubs and worms to eat by sensing electric pulses the the mud through its bill.

The micro organisms - germs, viruses. Though we don't know for certain the origin of life or how life on earth exactly came about according to evolution it started out with these micro-organism.
Its fascinating because I want to know how and why they started to evolve by cooperating or uniting themselves to groups or systems with specific functions like heart, lungs, skin, to create more complex organism.
Its fascinating to know why after millions of years after some of the micro organism united cooperated. Nothing of such has happed again.
Its fascinating how their size, the contribute signifcantly in the cycle of life. They responsible for decomposing organic waste and remains to be able to use back by world. The serve as food for other larger organism. They are responsible for death of some organism.
Its fascinating if they are the first life after the formation of planets how did they come about?
What cosmic event lead to their creation. Life on earth is carbon based. Why is it only carbon that can combine and be able to create a life? The easiest way most probably is through them.
If they are supposedly frozen with space debris and crash to planet and reanimated? Where did they come from?
