What is the process of drying sunflower seeds. I have harvested them and put them out to dry. But I am not sure if I doing it correctly. Can someone give me directions.

Thanks,
CG

they can be dryed in the sun, in an oven, in a dehidrater, as long as you dry them and dont let them get wet.

Yep its that simple. The hard part is getting the seeds ready. When using the oven you can go two ways be sure to soak also as they will dry out when heating. This will also bring out the flavor more.Dry them slow over night at 185 to 200 Degree's.

Tie a piece of cheesecloth or fine nylon or plastic mesh around the ripening sunflower seedhead when the back portion of the head begins to turn brown. Once the head shrivels and the seeds are dry, you can just rub them into the covering. See source for more details
