here's the deal, i'm not on my period one week, then i have it the next week, after that i dont have it for one week, then i have my period again. translating into once or sometimes twice a month.

how should i tell someone? because i try to tell my dad that i need to go to the doctor and he always asks why and i dont want to tell him why. and i feel like i cant tell my mom because then she'll start freaking out like crazy.

It could be a couple of things, however mostly hormones play a big role in this. It may just be something as simple as your hormones being out of whack (I get this often) as I have a pretty irregular cycle. It could also be that you have an infection or another thing is that you could possibly have an ovarian cyst which can cause the bleeding or it could cause the cramping and pain after sex.

I have had this before where I've missed my period, then get it twice in a month (the normal time I'm supposed to have it and then 2 weeks later again) and then again 6 weeks later and miss it again and each time this has happened it's been a cyst.

I would recommend seeing your doctor to see what they say - he/she may want to run some tests to see what could be causing this.

Good luck :)

Period Every Other Week

This does sound a bit unusual. You really should see a doctor because this can lead to anemia. You're body is losing a lot of blood and this can really begin to take a toll on you. Don't be embarrassed to tell your dad what's going on. He'll be happier that you did than for you to keep going on like this. You could be putting your health at risk. Just say dad i think you should make me a doctors appointment because my period has been coming every other week and this isn't normal at all. As for p.e. your teacher shouldn't notice anything because if you're swimming you should be wearing a tampon. I hope everything works out for you.

thats not normal you really need to tell your dad or a female adult that you trust. You need to see a doc. Guys, even dads understand that girls have problems. Maybe you could talk to your school nurse or a friends mom if you are nervous about telling your dad.
Bleeding that much could make you anemic not to mention something must be up with your cycle.
So please, say something ok

What you are experiencing is not normal and you need to let your mom know what's going on because this needs to be evaluated by a doctor.

In time you could become anemic from bleeding so much. You should see a doctor. Birth control pills sometimes help.
