No, I think promiscuity represents itself. Both soma and sexual promiscuity are symbols of the voluntary docility of the populace. They have surrendered all responsibility and control for lives of carefree pleasure.

I'm surprised that schools will allow you to read it, let alone require it. It might be a bit heavy going at first. I would suggest you find a copy of Ayn Rand's short novel "Anthem", and read that first. It's not as long or dark as Huxley, but it might be a good quick read to ramp up to the subject. It might also be a good reference should you have an essay test. Where Huxley leaves you to figure out what's missing in the "perfect" society, Rand pretty much spells it out in a single word.

soma symbolises control and conformity. it is present to keep people calm and acting in a calm, controlled way. if no one is angry, then there are no problems in society. drug the people till they do not get angry, and you can do anything to them. permiscuity, and soma are both about controlling emotions, and anger. think how many times you have been mad at your partner.
