I am almost 36 weeks pregnant... yay! Anyway, the last week or so I have been having a dull aching in my hoo haa and very low back. It's nothing that can be counted for how long it last really, it's just dull and feels like menstral cramps kind of. I haven't had any Braxton Hicks contractions yet, that I know of. Is this just normal aching, or could this be what Braxton Hicks feels Like? I have a doctors appointment in like 4 days, so I will find out then, but I was just curious if anyone else might have some knowledge. Thanks!

its normal. The pressure of the babys head on the pelvis makes your vagina swollen and sore. It will be over soon!

It likely you have had braxton hicks already, you just don;t realize it. They are painless, your uterus (usually just the top half) gets real firm for a few seconds, and then it passes. Many women mistake it for fetal movement.,

For me, Braxton Hicks was more like a tightening of my whole stomach area. It got really firm and balled up. I'm thinking the baby probably has dropped now and is just putting extra pressure on you down there.

Girl, I know EXACTLY what you're talking about! My doctor told me that it was a number of things. First of all, it's your pelvic bone moving out of the way to make room for baby to pass through. It also has to do with the baby going into birthing position and putting pressure against your pelvic bone as well. I was having some problems with constipation, too, and that was also adding extra stress on my pelvic bone. Either way, it's normal, but unfortunately, there is not much that you can do to ease the pain. One thing that I do that helps a bit is sleeping with a pillow between my legs. It at least takes the pressure off while I am sleeping. Good luck with everything and best wishes for an easy delivery and healthy baby!

It could be Braxton Hicks or it could be just all the pressure from the baby. Contractions do feel like menstrual cramps and BH can hurt so just take it easy and mention it to your doctor. If you get to where it hurts bad or your water breaks, go to the hospital.
