Plants, hands down. Preferably a flowering one!

I'm no lady but I'll answer your question.

I would actually prefer cut flowers from a friend, relative, or love interest. I love houseplants, but they are also a chore and I prefer to choose the one's that seem to like my house the best.

If they gave me a plant for outside or seeds for outside, I would like that too. But overall, I would prefer cut flowers because they often are seasonal and give the inside of the house a seasonal appearance. Then, after a few days, I can move on to something else. The memory of cut flowers is still there though.

Live growing plants with nice-smelling flowers would be the best for people who CAN take care of plants. Cut flowers die in a week and that's just too sad.

Questioning why this is limited to ladies! Men get flowers too, and you would be surprised at their reactions! I had no idea what to give my Dad for Father's day, so sent him a bouquet...told he cried with happiness, as he had NEVER gotten flowers before! Given the choice of cut vs live, I will take live any day of the week...I plant the live ones, and they live on in my yard as a rememberance of the giver and the occasion. And yes, I have recieved flowers on many occasions, never, never had any reaction but ...HOW nice! Women, take a lesson...there is absolutely NO reason you cannot send your man a plant or flower...you will be amazed at his reaction! Love and peace, goldwing

Cut flowers because they are pretty, smell nice, and are already going to die. That way I don't have to feel guilty when I forget to water it and it inevitably dies. However, if I had the ability to keep plants alive for more than a month, then I would prefer live plants.

Well my husband has never given me a plant of any kind. But
he has given me many bouquets. In fact, today he surprised
me with a beautiful bouquet to cheer me up since I've been
coping with a stomach flu that is going around our city like
wildfire. I think this is the first time, he's ever given me flowers
when I wasn't feeling well. So that means alot to me, that he
cared to make my day a little special.
As to my personal preference, I guess I do prefer the cut
flowers so that I can see blooming flowers inside where I
mostly am.

Since I rarely get fresh flowers, when I do it's a real treat for me. I make them last as long as possible. Yet a plant lasts so much longer and gives me a longer memory of the reason I received it.

Both are definitely great. Plants or flowers say a million things about the giver, it certainly pleases the receiver and they're just great gifts for anyone .

Always cut flowers. I might buy a plant for myself, but almost never do I splurge on cut flowers. Gerber daisies, Bright pink roses.
