The team's legacy is not tarnished...but Bill Belichick's might be a little bit...Most fans who know the Pats and Jets know that the camera thing was just bad blood between Belichick and Mangini...It was poor sportsmanship and a bad decision by Belichick, even though I think Mangini is an ungrateful little weasel who owes his career to Belichick...However, I think Belichick will still be in the HOF...He might not get in on the first ballot, because his critics will remember this...but ultimately, he'll be there...Nothing that a Super Bowl win after being singled out can't fix...I think some of the critics have already been silenced after the way the Pats handled the Chargers...

Not even close to being tarnished. Yes Bill used poor judgment. Yes the punishment fit the crime, but no tarnished is a stretch. All those videos and audio if there is any can't help a player perform. At the end of the day the players have to get it done based on skill and skill alone. Plus even if they were cheating in the past shouldn't of those extremely close super bowl wins been blowouts? something to think about.

As far as The 3 Super Bowls go, you had a rule that was not in place a the time, you had a different commissioner and remember as one QB said, just because a coach MAY have all the answers to a test, the players need to get it done. Is BB a good coach? I'd say yes, did he cheat prior to this first season's game? No one knows, is all hearsay. now as far as the 2 games so far this season, can you say that 108 return was a cheat? if you say yes I'd love to know why.
finally to those fans who keep saying the Pats should forfeit the Jets game or the entire season over 1 incident. Here is what i have to say. It will NEVER happen, why, because the NFL and its teams would have to pay back ALL money to fans, vendors companies who use commercials during the games, and so on, not to mention the play-off issues that would occur, i mean you'd be give any team who would be facing the Pats an automatic W and teams would complain because that 1 freebie win could mean a play-off spot for a team that may not deserve it..
So for me as a Pats fan and a fan in general I will await concrete proof from the most reliable source. and that would be the NFL itself!

TARNISHED!! I was for them in the Super Bowl and will not support them if they make the Super Bowl this year. They should add an '*' next to the years they won the Super Bowl. If they get rid of the coach, they will win clean and will win more games and Super Bowls. Bill Bellichick looks like a thug and bully in that outfit he always wears. Is that the only thing he's comfortable wearing?

I am in complete agreement
This whole matter about violating the NFL sideline procedure rules is going to disappear like a Fart in the wind.
This is much a do about nothing.
Since 2001, the Patriots have put together a record that makes them one of the great dynastys in NFLhistory

TARNISHED the patsies are cheaters and should be viewed that way does anybody honestly think the jets game was the first time they cheated? if so you must be on crack the patsies have given the nfl another black and i do believe their legacy should be that of dishonesty and cheating, every day more and more teams and players are comming out and stating it what does it take for these poor misguided patsie fans to admit it, good lord are people really that blind or have are values really bottomed out that bad that we can overlook the deception the pats are trying to put to us as "no big deal" and "everybody does it" its a shame and it really makes me believe the nfl is fixed

Are the Denver Super bowls tarnished by their salary cap shenanigans? Is SF Young Super Bowl tarnished by their cap shenanigans? Are the Steeler Super Bowls of the '70s tarnished by steroid use?
Illegal placement of cameras or salary cap infractions? (Stealing signs is legal, using a camera on the field is not. NBC showed the legal spots for cameras.)
Illegal placement of cameras or violating drug laws? (Steroids were not banned, but were still against the law.)
Let's be serious people.

Not tarnished. It was a minor infraction and received a minor penalty by the league office, case closed,
Video cameras didn't put 3 rings on Brady's fingers or 183 yards on randy Moss' feet in Week 1.
