i'm 13 and i was at my aunts. she told me not to do something and i did it anyways. then i backtalked when she was lecturing. she threatened to spank me and i said "ya right" and backtalked. blah blah blah. she got really angry and pulled me over her knee and spanked me. with a hairbrush too. it hurt really bad. did i deserve it?

Well I am really against other people spanking my children...so if you were my child I would be upset with my sister. Im not sure what kind of agreement that your parents have with your aunt. You did however push her to the limit. If I was in her situation, I probably would have done the same...or near since I don't hit other people's kids. That would include family members. Your parents should have finalized your punishment at home...you really should be more respectful to your elders...parents..aunts...grandparents..uncles..etc
Had I done something like that growing up...I would have gotten beat!! I was always told to respect my elders and I did.
You should do the same. The adults have enough grief going on in their lives without some punk 13 yr old trying to defy them...Give her a break and you really should appologize.
If I sound harsh..I appologize. Just think you should treat her better and with more respect. You were a guest in her home.

So, you got an over-the-knee spanking with a hairbrush. You were "asking" for it. You got it. And if you act that bratty at 15, she should do it again. But with "feeling" that time.
What most guys would expect would be getting the hairbrush on the BARE backside, and about 28 whacks ... now THAT would "hurt REALLY bad". Likely most 13 year old guys would even be crying some. And if they were wise, they would have learned a valuable lesson.
I never approve of anyone beating a kid ... whether it is myself or others. But getting a well-deserved butt warming isn't wrong. A bit uncomfortable at the time, but not wrong.

Since your aunt warned you in advance that you were going to get a spanking you cannot complain when she kept her promise. Using a hairbrush on your bottom is harsh but perhaps necessary to bring a lesson home to a 13 year old acting like a bratty little kid.

No no no, I admire your headstrong spirit. As long as you're not endangering yourself or anything... nothing wrong with being bratty, as long as you're not stuck up.
lecturing is just plain bad. it's annoying and tears apart relationships. and you're probably going to tune him/her out anyway. it's not me talking, there's studies on it....
Spanking is never acceptable. it's humiliating, solves nothing, teaches that violence is the answer, painful, and the child is probably going to rebel more or hate either now or later. leads to a breakdown in family relationships in many ways-love and trust being some of them. most of the child abusers, spouse abusers, substance abusers, and violent people or depressers had corporal punishment done upon them as a child or some other form of abuse.
with a hairbrush? now i've heard everything.... yes, 13 is too old to be spanked of which no child should ever be spanked, much less by your aunt who is not your legal guardian or parent.
I'm not saying you're right, but SHE isn't right either. And what she did was worse.

Yeah, you definitely deserved it. It may be punishment for a little kid, but you sure acted like a little kid so you deserved it.

Sounds like you deserved to be disciplined, but spanking was definitely not an acceptable punishment. You're far too old for something like that, not to mention she had no right to do that to someone else's child. Many parents would be furious.

good for her, next time, listen to her and when she says she will spank, you know she will spank. No, 13 is not to old. I was spanked till 16
