Hard work will get you farther than talent alone. Look at all the untalented entertainers out there who got to where they are through hard work and a lot of luck. There are plenty of more talented people we will never hear of because they don't have the drive and ambition to make it.

I'll give you an example (or two):
1. Tony Hawk is talented at skateboarding and he stopped schooling since High school.
2. Tiger Woods is talented at golf and he went to Standford to get a degree.

Of course talented people know they are talented - because they can do it better than their peers
again.....
3. Einstein is talented and he came up with lots of relevant ideas on his own - then of course, he's A. Einstein and not everybody is....

That depends HOW talented they are. Eg. Geniuses like Bill Gates would seriously have wasted his time completing his education. However those that are only slightly above par should be able to recognise they are not gonna be the one to shine in that field so they'll probably finish college and get a job.

Regardless of intellect and/or talent, education is never a waste of time nor effort. It can only enhance one's own knowledge and abilities. One can work hard at one's job but have no talent for it...in general their experience is learned through diligence and "hard work".

They go hand in hand. Lots of people have a natural talent but they don't know how to utilize it in the best manner or they don't know tricks of the trade or their strongest points. Julliard is a fine example. Good question!!

I know people who are really talented in something but hate to work hard. I think it is harder for them to be successful sometimes when they don't put in the extra effort as really really hard workers.
