What do I do? I completely uninstalled everything because of problems with the game, and now I am reinstalling. I get up to Open for Business and realize the Manual is missing. I was going to restore to the point before I uninstalled everything, and it turns out system restore had been turned off, so I cannot go back (grumble). I have no code to enter to verify or whatever that step that is. Am I screwed, or is there a way around this? What do I do??? I just moved and I feel the manual is lost for good (probably ended up in the garbage, it is absolutely no where and I haven't seen it since the first time I installed).

Relax. First off, did you register the game when you first installed it? If yes, you're in luck. You can retrieve your serial number through the EAGames.com website. Just log in, click on your account, and it will show you all the games that are registered under that name. If you don't know what you registered the name under, I'm not sure what your next step would be.

If you didn't register the game when you first installed it, you can still get a serial number, but you'll have to pay for it. If you contact EA Games, you can pay a $10 service fee and they'll send you a new serial number.

There's more info on both of these steps on the Sims2.com website. Good luck!
