Of course if would be France to say something so rude... For once - bravo. It needed to be said. I don't think France has the backbone or resources to stay the course - but an allie would. Who do we suppose that might be? All I know is this - the US is at a crossroads with their future. the 2008 Presidential election will either make or break them. If a knucklehead gets elected, extremely bad news. The next 4 years are critical to the stability of the world, not just the US. Possibly the future of mankind as we know it.

Per the Qu'ran's chapter nine, all followers of Mohammad should kill all Jews and Christians -- and those who claim to convert. Given that Iran is a theocracy based on the Qu'ran and its teachings. I think on this fact alone, and combined again with the anti-Israeli rhetoric coming out of Iran and it's willingness to export terrorism, it is a grave concern.
Will France stay the course? I doubt it. They've an extremely large Muslim population. They also have a lousy track record of standing up to anybody but the Algerians and Vietnamese -- and in both cases, they lost.
Trying to reclaim some sort of semblence of world power? Yes.

I think that its time that the whole world needs to wake up and learn from the mistakes of WWII. Amadinawhackjob will become the Hitler of the 21st century if the world continues on the road of appeasement. But I think it is hilarious that the French are the ones to actually say it out loud. They will probably apologize and run away with their tail between their legs.

Big deal. Bush just has another European lap dog to replace blair now. Plus france has one of the largest muslim populations in the world. I mean doesnt anybody realize that if theirs a war with iran thats gonna probably mean a war against the whole middle east?. Not only that but I guarantee that countires like russia and china will back iran along with other european nations that may surprise you. I know one thing if theres another world war it will be one that america and its allies CAN NOT win.

No. The head of the IAEA warned the war mongers not to hype everything into a supposed war with Iran--reminding everyone what happened given what Bush insisted about Iraq's nuclear weapons.

If nuclear weapons are good, all countries should have them.
If they're bad, no country should.
France and the US both have nukes, allegedly for their protection. I'm sure Iranian leaders claim their country needs protection, too (and now morethan ever). So if other countries don't like Iran's nuclear program, let them set a good example and destroy their own stockpiles.

Well, they were pretty persistent in taking the non-confrontational course for many years. I'm guessing that this is a real change, brought on by the fact that they have been exploited almost to death, and finally caught on to it.

It is some other agenda. With Blair out of the picture, Bush has conscripted another Euro-cronie. No good can come from this evil liaison.
