It is not easier to be accepted at some schools if you have undecided as your declared major. The top students know what they want to major in, so those with undecided might be put at the bottom of the list and accepted only if there is room.

The school I attended had elementary, secondary and special education programs. You need to decide which of those areas you see yourself.

When you teach, what subjects will you focus in? Maths, sciences, English, literature? That should be your minor.

It isn't true that you can't have education as a major anywhere. Some schools only offer it as a graduate degree, but others do offer an undergraduate degree in education. It also isn't true that schools will take you faster if you write in undecided - I think you need to listen to different people!

If you do choose to go to a school which does not offer an education major, what you major in may depend on the level of school you want to teach, and what kinds of things would work there. For example, if you are teaching high school, you need some expertise in a particular subject matter, like math, history, or English, so you could major in one of those. If you plan to be an elementary school teacher, something like psychology might be good (you can take courses in child development).

You could major or minor in something like English or Philosophy...your undergrad degree is not as important as your grad degree and grad schools offer Education degrees. And it is not true that schools take you faster with undecided as a major. If you happen to be applying for a really competitive major and your transcript is not that competitive, then you would probably get rejected with your major listed but accepted with "undecided" listed. That's probably the main difference.
