I had a bunch of wedding invitations all ready to mail, and I spilled coffee all over them! well, I reprinted the envelopes, and I want to re-use the stamps because I have almost $7 worth of postage there. How do I attach the stamps once they are soaked and dried? Not with tape, how about a staple? or double-sided tape?

elmers glue will do it but only use enough to hold it down, then wipe away the excess that surrounds the stamp....its the excess that stumps the postal machines (fyi - tape will prevent the postal meters from reading them right, staples will jam the meter, two sided tape, not a good idea cause if it comes off, so will your stamp, and your invites will be returned to you!)

Wow.. Since I left stamp collecting a dozen years ago, I didn't realize you could soak or steam off the new US stamps.

I would go with the Glue Stick recommendation.

Before reading your "further details" comments, I was going to berate you for postal fraud !!

I DO like Kracky's suggestion of going to the post-office and trying to get a refund / exchange.

GOOD LUCK, and Congrats on the coming Wedding.

Have you already soaked the stamps? If so, just use a glue stick but you have to make sure it lays completely flat. If you haven't removed them from their prior surface, go to a craft store and buy a bottle of Un-do. It removes stickers but leaves them sticky enough to be reused. I'm a scrapbooker and I LOVE this stuff!

Take your ruined stamps to the post office and ask for replacements. You'll never be able to attach them in a way that won't foul up the post office machinery.

Glue stick is the best. Been there, done that, mailed a postcard.

Elmers glue should do the trick.
